Joachim Palden from Austria won a Boogie Woogie & Ragtime Contest in Zurich, Switzerland, as early as 1977. His piano idols are e. g. Otis Spann and Hans-Georg Moeller. His powerful playing and his joy in accompanying other musicians made him a co-founder of Vienna’s Mojo Blues Band. Later he worked with Etta Scollo (their joint LP went into the Austrian charts) or Dana Gillespie. At the Hamburg Fabrik, he presented his piano solo artistry.
