It’s a fixed annual date in the calendar for all Boogie Woogie fans: The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection at Hamburg’s „Fabrik“ on the 8th of August! Pure joy of life is guaranteed, when eight pianists are taking off with their improvisations!
Axel Zwingenberger, host of the festival, has invited prolific guests of the international Boogie Woogie- and Blues-piano-scene, who will put the heat to the grand pianos!
Keito Saito, Japan’s Boogie Woogie pianist number 1, will enthrall you with his outstanding virtuosity and musical sensitivity.
Lluis Coloma, Spain’s Boogie Woogie export hit, celebrates his debut at The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection. He’s a crowd puller!
Mark Braun from Detroit conjures a world of deep Blues and stirring Boogies. He is a leading exponent of the current U.S. piano scene.
Cili Marsall has started an international carreer after her first performance at The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection in 2019. The young lady from Hungary bewitches every audience with her gaiety and zest of playing the piano!
Hannes Otahal appears for the first time at the annual 8th of August festival at the Fabrik. Hailing from Vienna, he not only plays the music of the Boogie pioneers with conviction, he also teaches this piano art to the younger generation with great success.
Jo Bohnsack with his earthy, New Orleans-seasoned Blues style is a regular of The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection since its launch on 8-8-88. The spirit of Champion Jack Dupree and Ray Charles lives on in his music!
Marcus Paquet is a new face at the Boogie pianists’ meeting at the Fabrik on the 8th of August. A younger member of Hamburg’s Boogie Woogie guild, he spices his Boogies up with an occasional infliction of Rock’n’Roll.
Axel Zwingenberger lives the Boogie Woogie on the stages of the world since over 50 years. The Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection, which he founded together with Vince Weber and Poldi Eidenhammer, is the longest-living festival of this music in the world – the mother of all Boogie Woogie festivals!
Last but not least, some surprise guests will join in - look forward to them!
