Diz, born in South Africa and based in England, has devoted himself to New Orleans piano, which he plays with inner calm and driving force. With his band "Diz & The Doormen" he made great recordings in marching bands’ style. His piano playing always provides the basis, and sometimes he sings in a style close to Dr. John’s. The Caribbean elements of his music are particularly highlighted when he plays with Jamaican percussionist Tony Uter.
