Carl was THE discovery at the first Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection on 8-8-88. He was invited by Axel Zwingenberger, following the recommendation of a Boogie record collector from Great Britain, and he won over the audience by storm. His interpretations of Roosevelt Sykes’ tunes with his characteristic vocals and rocking piano playing made him darling of the public. Shortly after his Hamburg performance, he moved to the U. S., where he spreads the infectious Boogie Woogie seed ever since with great success.
