The pianist from Bremen spends every free minute at his grand piano to play Boogie Woogie. With his tasteful selection of musical themes and with his extraordinary diligence, he achieved an astonishing virtuosity. One of his specialities are Boogie adaptions of well-known songs, such as "Volare". But he is equally at home with the classic Boogie Woogie, as proven by several recordings. Together with his wife Viona, Joachim has founded the "Pinetop Award". This award honors the merits of taking care of and preserving the Boogie Woogie piano in Germany.
