Jan Preston was born in New Zealand, but lives in Australia today. In the Far East, she is the Queen of the Blues and Boogie pianists, and for several times, she has been elected as "Female Blues Artist of the Year". Jan plays piano powerfully, and sometimes she also sings. Since the 1970s, she composes film music, too, which won her several awards as well. After studying music, she was musical director of a theatre company in her homeland New Zealand. Jan’s most recent, successful project is a show about the life and the music of female pianist Winifred Atwell, whose music Jan has literally absorbed.
