"Boogie Phil" Filiep Ketels performs in his homeland Belgium as a soloist as well as with his band "Boogie Phil & The Wise Guys". He is also a popular pianist with the "Rhythm Devils", particularly in France. Since his early youth, he played Ragtime at the piano, later adding Blues, Boogie and Jazz. He became acquainted with this music by frequent visits to a well sorted record shop close to his home. Phil is particularly fascinated by 1950s’ Jump Blues Bands, which you can also hear in his solo piano. His performance at the Fabrik was his first Hamburg show.
