Christian Rannenberg

Born in the area of Muenster, Chris started early to learn Blues piano from musicians like Blind John Davis, Little Brother Montgomery and Sunnyland Slim. He was their tour guide when they toured Europe. In the early 1980s, Chris decided to go to the U. S. and first moved to Chicago, later California. That helped him to manifold musical meetings and widely acclaimed co-operations, which have influenced his playing. One of these co-operations was the "International Blues Duo" with saxophonist Gary Wiggins, who played as a surprise guest at the Fabrik on 8-8-88. Today, Chris Rannenberg lives in Berlin, he tours as a soloist, and he is also a much-loved accompanist with his deeply felt Blues piano.
