Charlie Booty was musically influenced by his roots in the Southern States of the U.S. Even as a child, he listened to all Blues pianists, who came through the little town where he lived. Of course, that happened secretly, since he was much too young to visit a bar. Charlie played a wonderful mixture of Blues piano, Ragtime and Boogie Woogie. He performed in the U. S. since the 1940s, but in the last twenty years of his life, he frequently visited Europe. By his CD series "Piano Joys" he has left a valuable contribution for the documentary of this music’s history: concert documents from the 1950s on, showcasing many otherwise almost forgotten artists. Charlie passed away piecefully at the age of 80 in 2008.
